Prepare some thoughtful gifts for them, be polite, and be urself (This is very important especially when u have to be along with them for quite a long time in the future).

Show ur concern about them, and their daughter, if u r a boy. Let them know how much u love their daughter, so that they can happily give their daughter's hand to you
For a girl, ask ur boy friend to show his loving care for u in front his parents, so that they know the importance u r in their son's heart and they won't be too tough to you. But never be too far away, should be a little less than what he gvies to his parents, or they will envy u and may be really tough
