It is also shown in figure 4-6 that both the initial decomposition temperature and the rapid decomposition temperature of DDS toughened epoxy resin were fairly high, however, in the late stage, the anount of carbon residue was very low, and its thermal decomposition also increased. On the other hand, hexalis-(4-aminphenoxy)-cyclotriphosphazene toughened expoxy resin exhibited the opposite properties, indicating that the cyclotriphosphazene flame retardents which contains N and P only work at high temperature. If the temperature requirment is low, cyclotriphosphazene have negative effect on the thermostability of thermosetting epoxy resin. |
