蒙大拿大学怎么样？外导让我提工资期望，该怎么回答好？

各位虫友大家好，因为Univ. of Montana正在开发一个模型，我非常感兴趣，而且我也正在修改这个模型的代码，所以前两天我就和负责这个模型的副教授去了一封邮件，问问有没有博后机会，并附上CV，paper等材料。昨天他回复了一封邮件，以下是全文，感觉挺诚恳，但尚没fund，可也没直接拒，说有机会的话会考虑，问我期望工资是多好，这样他好做budget。 我今年六月份博士毕业，毫无经验，求指导： 1）Univ. of Montana这个学校如何（学校氛围、生活环境等）？ 2）像这样的回复大概是什么样的情况？成功的希望大不大（他说的“If some funds become available”的“if”可能性有多高呢）？ 3）我该怎么样回答工资期望？$35-90K这个水平怎么样（因为我还要带老婆过去，够两个人的吗）？ 4）整体上我该如何回复这封信呢？ 谢谢各位虫友！ Dear ×××, thanks for your interest in our research group, and ×××. I looked at your paper, as well as your CV, and think you would might make a good fit here. However, all of our postdoctoral funds are currently committed to others. This situation can be some what fluid, with turn over of students. If some funds become available, I will defiantly keep you in mind for a position. To help me estimate budgets, could you tell me what sort of compensation you had in mind as a post-doc? It seems that compensation for post-docs varies considerably right now. I've seen every thing from $35-90K. Thanks, ××× PS The first two papers based on ××× are undergoing a final round of internal review, and then will be submitted. At the same time, we are in the midst of a big push to clean up the code and improve documentation. I'm really happy that you have found it useful, and we continue to try and make it better. In the spirit of open source, we hope that you will approach us about committing any improvements that you might make to the model. |
