[交流] Do you have any suggestions for the improvement of English Cafe?


English cafe is a special section in emuch as you can see, where only English is allowed. It is also a clear and warm place in emuch under the management of moderators here. Some worms come and some go, but still some never leave. It's a good platform for us to communicate with  each other in English, and also make progress in our English in the meantime, sort of killing two birds with one stone, how cool it is!!!
However, we must admit that it is far from perfection, and there is only a limited number of loyal fans who come here often, especially on holidays. But we are always trying our best to attract more worms to come here by giving them generous bonus and carefully replying posts they wrote. Though we made some progress in the past, there is still a long way to be perfected we think.
So today, we need your help in order to make English café much warmer, nicer, better and more popular.

Sure, just like LZ said, this is a really warm and good place for us to communicate in English. As to suggestions, I have some thoughts. First of all, I think most of the worms in here are researchers, postgraduates, teachers etc. who are just like those in other boards such as NSF communication, paper publication and so on, so maybe we can communicate these kinds of information in English in English cafe as well rather than only limited to several topics such as life, feeling etc.; secondly, I think if possible, worms can introduce some foreign friends to come to English cafe and talk with our worms so as to attract more loyal worms. Finally, and also this is the most important point is that if everyone can type more, speak more rather than reply with a few of words or icons, I think more and more guys would come and be loyal. I think the main purpose for most worms to come here is to improve English, so saying more without fearlessness is the only way to get what you want.
If something I said is improper, please ignore it. :-)

Firstly, i should say sorry to all the moderators for that i did not come here for a long time. since i have to do some effort on my study. i radom come here from Nov. 2012 to Jan.2013. forgive me~~secondly, i will talk something to improve our English cafe. English cafe play an important role on improving our English level in enmuch. So i think we should increase more interesiting topic in all area and give more BBs to these who post posts here. And we can try to broaden our discussion aspects,such as movies, travel, food and so on. in a word, we should inrich our topic field and let English cafe become colorful.

As a frequent visitor and loyal fan of English Cafe, I think lots of topics and materials are very helpful.
But I think, maybe English Cafe should be a little more hierarchic. Visitors' English levels are different, so the contents may be divided into degrees, so that some don't think it too childish and others don't think it's all too hard.
Maybe, topics can range from easier ones to more professional ones throughout the week? Maybe naive ,but just an example.

We,whose native language is chinese,often speak the chinese-style english and make some mistakes that can be avoided.it is beautiful if the sentence you write is no mistakes,especially the one you can avoid.pay attention to the standard english and think in english skyle you will find your writing is wonderful.

this is a good topic.it has been just a few week since i came to english cafe.although. I have sth to say. sometimes.there\\\'s some chinglish in this platform due to a lot of limits. as a learning platform. I wish someone who is good at English would stand out to point out the chinglish and make some advice for progress in the future. that\'s what I want to say.

Most friends come to emuch mainly for their professions, while few of people really are interested in English language, because they do love it, or it gives them more chances for better gains in their life.

Some material collected about English tests like TOFFEL, IELTS, BEC, or even PETS may be welcome by people coming here.

Since guys in this section are equiped themselves with certain knowledge storage, not purely for study English. To be honest i think it's better to go to an E-corner than typing here, but as a forum, it has its own advantages. People would expect for other's comments on their dicision and expriences, and people also want and willing to share their ideas and expreiences.

actually, writing posts is a process of practice and learning...
everyone has different level of english,  we should be tolerant towards  all of them...
of course, it will be better to point out the mistakes to help worms make progress...

in fact, EC is never designed to a professional section...
there are professional English sections in emuch, such as foreign language section, professional English section...
worms can find some material about English tests in foreign language section http://muchong.com/bbs/forumdisplay.php?fid=126 ...
if worms have some English problem in their majors, maybe they can turn to professional English section for help....http://muchong.com/bbs/forumdisplay.php?fid=432
our original intention is to build EC as a casual platform, where worms can share their feelings, life, work and so on ....

actually, each section has different functions...
for EC, it is defined as a place of entertainment and lesiure for English lovers...
there is no strict restriction of topics, so any kind of English topic is allowed here, as long as it doesn't break the rules of EC and emuch...
anyway, anything we do is for worms, hope all of you can enjoy yourself here...
