Abstract: A number of lithogeochemical survey indicated the involvement of organic hydrocarbon gas during the lead-zinc ore mineralization in Baifutang region, with the strong presence of hydrocarbon gas anomalies over the orebodies. To determine the target region for mineralization and perform metallogenic prognosis for the surrounding areas of the orebodies, organic hydrocarbon gas method and comprehensive geochemical method were used in metallogenic prognosis for lead-zinc ores in Baifutang region. The target region for mineralization in Baifutang region was delineated based on data analysis, which agrees well with hydrocarbon gas halos by traditional geochemical method. Such strategy covers the shortage of traditional geochemical methods and is of great importance for deep ore prospecting using organic hydrocarbon gas survey in this region. |
