Associate Professor Positions in the Area of Water Research and Wetland Ecology

The School of Nature Conservation of Beijing Forestry University (China) invites applications for associate professor in the area of water research and wetland ecology. One main task of the School of Nature Conservation is to carry out internationally outstanding research on hydrology and water resources, wetland ecology, and ecosystem services by closely collaborating with a number of international partners/organizations including the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA, Austria), Cambridge University (UK), Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (Eawag, Switzerland), Delft University of Technology (Netherland), Water Footprint Network (WFN, the Netherlands), Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK, Germany), International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI, USA). Successful candidates will have the ability to develop an active research program, and form interdisciplinary connections with international partners. The candidates are expected to perform independent research and provide administrative support. If desired by the candidate, integration into the academic teaching at BFU is possible. Required qualifications include: - Doctoral degree in hydrology and water resources, remote sensing, environmental science, ecology, ecological economics, or closely-related field; - Excellent publication records; - Excellent written and spoken English and strong computer and analytical skills - High level experience in statistical, mathematical and numerical modeling and programming skills are preferred Review of applications will start immediately, and continue until the position is filled.
