How long will we still be No. 1?

Last time, somebody asked such a question in public: In which 10 countries 90% (or another value) of the 900 million people who can not read and write live? Many people answered, the first correct answer is China. In my village, the youngest person who can not read and write is one of the daughters of my uncle, she is about 39 years old this year. It seems at present, some children still can finish their compulsory education. So, we still may be the No. 1 country with biggest number of people who can not read and write for many years. I think, education is the base of too many things, because short of knowledge, especially the ability of getting knowledge, we have to pay much more. Because they can not read and write, they can not get higher salary. So, it seems an outschool education is still needed for adults who have not finished their education when they were young. Come on, China! |

but nowaday many persons in countries could not get the nine years of compulsory education, because their parents go to cities for work part-time, the so-called migrant workers, these children don't have many care from their parents or other relitives. and at countries, the rural educational resources have a big gap in contrast with that in cities, the teachers don't have the resources or ability to teach these rural children getting the similar level of education, it is really existed in my hometown, Henan Provine, and this situation is very serious. i don't know what they will do in the future, maybe the most possible way is also to be the migrant workers, just like their parents.
