A fire drill!

We had a fire drill this afternoon. Its very interesting and also very useful! Though the alarm is not very large, but after someones calling, all of us are geting out of the building to the assembly station. Then most of us used the fire extinguisher to put out the fire in the bucket.  Though all of us know this is only the drilling, but all we want to play with the fire extinguisher. Its so interesting to put out the fire in the bucket~~~~  I also put out the fire in the bucket, very interesting~~~~ Have you used the fire extinguisher before? Give us your feeling?    |

Actually, i also have never used the fire extinguisher though there are two in our laboratory.  Once, our leaders inspected laboratory's safe condition and asked us whether we can use fire extinguisher. But we say we have used it before. I also want to have a chance to do a fire dirll because of the laboratory is really a dangerous place in a sense |

| Hehe, it's quite easy to use it. Engaged in the field of chemistry,fire extinguishers are generally required, so everybody must know how to use it. A fire extinguisher consists of a hand-held cylindrical pressure vessel containing an agent which can be discharged to extinguish a fire and a pin. Firstly we should pull the pin, secondly we shold aim at the root of the flame (not at the flames)then squeeze the lever to sweep it. |

| A few years ago when I was taking a shower, the fire alarm was activated. I had to come out half way through the shower. People were gathering outside the building. I was the last one. They saw me, and they said, 'are you cooking something and forgot to turn off the fire?'. No. It was not me. It was a little embarrasing though. |

When I first used the fire extinguisher,I was so nervous. I remember the day. Someone put a fire in the bucket and he gave us a demonstration how to use the fire extinguisher. All of us were asked to put out the fire using the extinguisher successively. When my turn came, I didn't know what should I do. My mind became blank...  Fortunately, my friend gave me a hand |
