Job Openings for Social Media Analytics and (Cyber) Data Mining

The research group of Prof. Tieniu Tan and Prof. Liang Wang at the National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition (NLPR), Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences is recruiting assistant professors, post-docs and project-contracted staffs who have backgrounds in Internet Information Processing, Social Media Analytics and (Cyber) Data Mining and Security. One relevant project in this group is being funded by the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program). The work site is in Beijing, China.

Position 1: Assistant Professor/Post-doc (meeting the following requirements or preferences):
Hold a PhD degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Automation or related fields. Applicants should be under the age of 35 (which can be relaxed for very excellent candidates);
Have solid foundation in mathematics, proficiency in programming skills and good English reading, speaking and writing abilities;
Communication skills and high team spirit are required;
Applicants with cyber data understanding, sentiment analysis and Internet content security, multimedia (image/video/text) processing, social media analytics, pattern recognition, and machine learning backgrounds are preferred;
Applicants with excellent publications or strong development experiences are preferred.

Position 2: Project contracted staff (meeting the following requirements or preferences):
Hold a Master degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Automation or related fields or a Bachelor degree but with plenty of project experiences;
Own proficiency in programming skills and proper English reading and writing abilities;
Communication skills and high team spirit are required;
Applicants with cyber data understanding, sentiment analysis and Internet content security, multimedia (image/video/text) processing, social media analytics, pattern recognition, and machine learning backgrounds are preferred.
