Among the many whom I questioned, I found not a single one who did not tell me that he had long been of the contrary opinion, but had come over to this one, moved and persuaded by the force of its arguments. 我又觉得这个句子中的if有点问题，不符合逻辑，要我写的话，我觉得我会用when或者as等一些词，因为后面讲述的都是一些客观事实，又不是条件状语从句或者虚拟语气。所以翻译的话我就不翻译if了。 我经常碰到哪些支持哥白尼学说的人，我都会问他是否一直都对哥白尼学说深信不疑。在这些我询问的大多数人当中，他们都会无一例外地告诉我他们曾经一直都持有与哥白尼学说相反的观点，但是在争论当中转变了自己的立场直至被说服并接受了这个观点。 另外翻译“not a single one who did not tell me”是双重否定表示肯定进行强调，所以翻译成无一例外或者异口同声吧。 |
