About made-in-China
After I got to USA, I found many, many things were made in China. Cooking pots, dishes, toys, clothes! I felt happy! A few of these things are made in other countries, such as Malaysia, Mexico... Oh, China is strong. But, try not to be happy so fast. Most of these made-in-China things have foreign brands. A few of them are really made by Chinese enterprises. The latter may include, noodles, Chinese seasonings.. So, we Chinese workers contributed to the production of foreign plants. Furthermore, most made-in-China things are not expensive, such as clothes, toys. So, we are making things with our low-price labors. In this country, most cars have Japanese (I do not want to type this word) brands. We even know that most lab equipments are made in USA, European countries. Even in China, we know that the quality of many Chinese lab equipments are not as good as those imported. When will be the time that the cars, the ICPs, the AASs in USA being made in China, and by Chinese enterprises? I may not see this day. I hope my offsprings can meet it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Understand your feeling, once a while I have the same feeling. However, my focus turns more to infra-struture instead. Chinese education system forces us to memorise, obedient, not so inventive and imaginative. We are strong in copying or modifying base on someone else product, we are far away from our ancients who had the four major inventions of human history. And even recall the famous phrase mentioned by Qing Dynasty mandarin, "To learn from the foreigners so we can control them..." because we are already that weak after centuries sleeping... To change this fact, something need to be done from our education system, I think. |

I think you may witness the days. Many things in foreign countries are made in China, and many Chinese are abroad for studies or business. We hope you, a larde amount of the young or successes, celebrities will bring advanced S&T, conceptions, ways of managements back. The prosperity of our motherland requires contributions from all the circles especially those are better-off and elites. But most choose to be far away from China, a place faced with pollutions, unreliable food safety, ignorance in equality, and just engage in their own things, waiting for the stronger China. |

Yes, I also found that lots of things in US were made in China. The first time I saw the word "China " in US, I felt excited and proud. It's my country....it's mine.... But when I found almost all of the made-in-China things were much cheaper than the ones made in other countries, my feeling became complicated. How to improve the value of made-in-China products is worth thinking about.... |
