[交流] 与哈佛的主编过过招

前段时间向哈佛某刊物投了遗篇文章，一个星期后收到主编的回信，Reject!
主编好像挺婉转地拒绝了，但没说什么具体原因，感觉不怎么爽，就写了一封回信要求给个说法，几天后接到回信，大家看看，是不是忽悠人啊?

Thank you for submitting the manuscript entitled "#" for publication consideration by Toxicological Sciences.

I have carefully read the paper, and the work appears to be well conducted. At the same time, the focus of this paper does not match that of **, and I think the paper is better suited for another journal. Therefore, I regret to inform you that the paper is not acceptable for publication in **. My decision does not reflect a lack of quality of the work, but rather, my perspective that it is not consistent with the scope of articles published in **.

We appreciate your interest in publishing in Toxicological Sciences and hope that this experience will not deter you from submitting manuscripts for consideration in the future.

It is difficult and inappropriate to compare a manuscript published in 2005 relative to one submitted to the journal in 2007 as we continue to increase the stringency of our reviews along with a clear focus or emphasis on understanding mechanisms of toxicity.  To that end, your paper may have described findings but did not establish anything new in the context of toxic mechanisms (my point of view).  Furthermore, you failed to follow the instructions for authors regarding preparation of the paper, which did not put your paper in a good light relative to the hundreds of other manuscripts that are submitted to **.

I stand by my decision to reject the paper.
