A summer job during study time

As international students, it is very common to work part-timely to support their daily expense. This has also given those students a opportunity to gain working and living experience. Once graduate from the university, they could adapt the work much quicker than those without experience of a part-time job. Besides, the living experience is also beneficial for setting up their own family even the experience is not relevant to their job. As a matter of fact, most Chinese students do not have work experience during study. Firstly, This is attributed to the one child policy, which normally does not require their only child to work. If the child really want to work, the parents are likely to persuade their child put more time on study. It is undeniable that study is more important than work as a student. However, they are not truly contradict all the times if the student could organize time wisely. Secondly, the education system is likely to partly responsible for this. In China, better score in study from primary, junior, and even tertiary education is the only assessment criteria to distinguish good and bad students. Consequently, students have to work diligently in order to get good marks. In this case, work during study is more chanllenging considering the assessment method of current education system. In conclusion, despite the fact that part-time job has positive influences, students are hard to work given the family expectation and education assessment system. |
