Opening Faculty Positions in Computational Materials Science at USST, Shanghai, China
Applications are invited for four faculty positions at rank of assistant or associate professor in University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST), Shanghai. Applicants should have Ph.D degrees with solid backgrounds and extensive experiences in computational materials science, condensed matter, chemistry or related areas. Applicants are required to be familiar with at least one of the following methods: quantum mechanics, molecular dynamics, and/or Monte Carlo methods, although other simulation techniques are also given consideration. It is preferred to have experience in atomistic simulations of novel energy materials, nanomaterials, or biomedical materials with strong publication records. Proven experience with computational methodology development and/or programming skills is an asset.
The successful candidates will join the Computational Materials Design (CMD) group, led by Prof. Yi LIU, in School of Materials Science and Engineering at USST. The group has recently built a high performance computing facility. The candidates should be strongly motivated to do excellent research and teaching. Good oral and written communication skills in English are required. They should work comfortably within a team and be able to pursue external funding independently.
Application package should consist of a curriculum vitae, including a list of complete publications; five representative papers; a summary of past research with highlighted contributions; a future research proposal with at least two topics; three reference letters.
