How do you begin your research in a new place?

I have been sydney for one month. And I found my english is so terrible. The local english is very strange, it's not like what we learn in China. I can listen english from bbc and voa, but can't catch what they are talking about. I need to work hard with my english, also need to do my research quickly. How do you begin your research in a new place? |

| I suffer from the same situation with you, we must study english and do our research at the same time, fogetting the enviornment when we do research, then adapting the environment as soon as possibe. |
