Summary of 22 issue of english corner

Nov.4th our 22 issue of english corner was hold in Bazhou lib, the first floor, the main topic is “What kind of food do you like?” There are 13 people joined this activity. Here is the name list:Allen, Shelley, Jess, Stefanie, Gina, Joey, Leoburgar, Efuri (I don’t know if this spelling is right), Zhangxinhui, Frank, Amy, Liufang, and Jess’s baby daughter sisi, who is one year and eight months old now~ At first, Allen asked us to have a brief introduction of ourselves, then gave some roles for English corner, everyone of you can join in the English corner, if you have time, welcome to join us! 1 Allen said, after introduction, we can play a small game, it is guessing words, work in pairs, one is wirting, he or she can explain the word himself or herself and the rest of us can explain it too, but never said the word directly, the partner should sit in front of the board and guessing words from our hints. 2 Discuss the topic. Talking about the game part, we learned a lot of words here: hotpot（火锅）, Pecking Roast Duck（北京烤鸭）,Chinese red pepper（花椒）, sauce（酱油）, COUSCOUS（手抓饭）, fishy smell（腥味）, salt black bean（豆豉）, picky（挑剔的）, smelley Tofu（臭豆腐）, foodie（吃货）.Almost people played the game. Our main topic, who ate the first crab? Liufang? I am not sure, anyway, she taught us how to cook spicy beef jerky( 麻辣牛肉干)；Joey said how to make sauteed Tofu in hot and spicy sauce(麻婆豆腐); Stefanie said shreded potato (土豆丝)with salty yolk of duck is yammy, Leo and Shelley have no experience of cooking, Leo want to find his soul mate cook for him, Shelley had different ideas, because she was married and have a baby who is one year and two months old, she believed to be a good cook is difficult, but she want to try her best to learn how to make delicious food. There is an old saying: The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Most people take part in the English corner at 4th, their parents were born in Sichuan, but they were born in Xinjiang, so they have a lot in common: love spicy food. All in all, we had fun in the lib, we all felt time flies, we love English corner, love oral English, how about u? If you think so, come with us! |
