I agree with you.

Actually most of foreigners should be able to speak English even they are from Western Europe. My case was not a normal one since Russian is minority in our country if compared with other countries.

American can not tell the difference of Asian from different countries either. I told them a guy with small and puffy eyes is very likely from Korea.

several days ago I met a foreigner on the bus . He said a “谢谢”to me . Because I gave a sit to him . I replied with a ' NOT AT LL".

I lost my way in Chinatown when I first arrived there.
I was too nervous to ask anyone for help.

Then an old guy just offered to help, carefully asking me what was going on.
At last, he even drove me home.
What was even more amazing is that he happened to be the senior lecturer in my uni.

We can speak good English by practicing, but only when we are immerged in a English surrounding, constantly speaking English with English-background speakers could we have an excellent oral English. In addition, we will automatically pick some local expressions and accents up during the procedure, which are definitely good for us
