And it was found that solid base (such as hydrotalcite and MgO) supported Pt catalysts exhibited the predominant activity and higher 1,2-PDO selectivity than that of solid acids (Al2O3, H-ZSM5 and H-Beta) [44]. More recently, we found that MgO supported copper is also an efficient catalyst for glycerol hydrogenolysis with high selectivity of 1,2-PDO [45].
