这是听力文本 Transcript From NPR News in Washington, I'm Nora Raum. President Bush is wrapping up his six-nation European tour in Bulgaria today. At a news conference, he again voiced support for Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. NPR's Don Gonyea reports from Sofia. President Bush says he still has complete confidence in Alberto Gonzales despite bipartisan calls for the attorney general to step down over the handling of the firing of eight US attorneys late last year. Mr. Bush made his comments during a news conference held in an archaeological museum in the heart of the capital city of Sofia. When asked about a Senate no-confidence vote (不信任投票) over Gonzales expected later today, Mr. Bush condemned the Congress for spending time on a political resolution that he says has no bearing whatsoever on him. "They can try to have their votes of no confidence, but that's not gonna determine, make, make the determination who serves in my, in my government." Mr. Bush returns to Washington tonight. Don Gonyea, NPR News in Sofia Bulgaria. The US military announced today the deaths of two more soldiers in Iraq. The latest casualties boost the death toll for US troops in Iraq in the past four years to more than 3,500. NPR's Jamie Tarabay reports from Baghdad. An American soldier was killed in fighting in the south of Baghdad on Sunday and another wounded. The soldiers belong to a division that's been clearing neighborhoods in the southern part of the capital as part of the military campaign to restore law and order to Baghdad. Another soldier died in Diyala province, northeast of the capital. The US military says the soldier died of wounds sustained when he was shot in fighting over the weekend. The so-called surge is almost at full strength with the remaining troops arriving in the next couple of weeks. US military officials have warned the rate of casualties was expected to rise as more troops flood the capital and take up positions inside Baghdad neighborhoods. They say it will be months before the campaign success can be properly assessed. Jamie Tarabay, NPR News, Baghdad. Iraq's parliament speaker said today he will resign. Lawmakers have been calling on Mahmoud al-Mashhadani to step down after several incidents including a scuffle he had with a member of parliament. Gasoline prices fell last week for the first time since January. Analyst Trilby Lundberg says the decline is partly due to a greater supply from foreign producers lured by higher prices. "It isn't crude oil prices that have done this, but gasoline supply is up because of imports of gasoline, if crude oil prices should drop substantially soon, we will really see a price crash at the pump." The Lundberg Survey of 7000 gas stations nationwide found the U.S. average for self-serve, regular-grade gasoline was $3.11 as of Wednesday, down from $3.18 last month. The highest price was in Chicago, the lowest in Jackson, Mississippi. You are listening to NPR News. The investigation continues into the killings of six people in a house in southern Wisconsin over the weekend. The dead included twin infant boys. The Walworth county district attorney says it appears the shootings were part of a domestic dispute, but he would not elaborate. According to the police, there is no danger to the community, but they wouldn't say if the shooter was among the dead. A seventh person, a two-year-old girl was seriously wounded in the attacks. The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers last night to take a two games to nothing lead in the NBA Finals. The final score was 103 to 93. Texas Public Radio's Terry Gildea reports from San Antonio. The Spurs dominated Cleveland for three quarters of play, but in the fourth quarter, the Cavs gained some ground, going on a 22-4 run in cutting the margin to eight points. Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich says his team needs to stay focused for entire game and stop Cleveland guard LeBron James. "In the fourth quarter, I thought LeBron got away from us. I think my substitution pattern was poor, and I think all those things combined gave us a problem in the fourth quarter." LeBron James hopes to bring more aggressive play back to Cleveland. "And we know we can play harder, so we have to find a way to pick our intensity up, you know, and try to carry on what we did in the fourth quarter once again in game three."
