Relationship between K fertilizer and sweet potato yield was studied by Xichen Potato 007. The results were showed as followings. K fertilizer improved the assimilative capacity of the sweet potato, and increased the dry matter accumulation while it partly inhibited excessive growth of the stems and leaves. The ability of transporting assimilate to underground tuber was enhanced by K fertilizer, resulting in reducing the value of T/R and increasing economic production. Root dry rate and stem diameter is determined by the sweet potato species characteristics instead of K fertilizer amount. The rate of large and medium-sized potato was increased by low K fertilizer amount, and
The low K fertilizer amount increased the rate of large and medium-sized potato in sweet potato, and increase the longest stem length and the number of base branches. The rate of dry matter was decreased by applied K fertilization comparing to control. Chlorophyll content of plants treated with N and P fertilizer was higher than those of K fertilizer treatment and non-fertilization. The best amount of K fertilizer was 16.87~21.44 kg/mu in the low K level soil, which increased fresh yield, dry yield, and starch yield. There was no difference between low K and high K levels for dry matter production although K fertilizer can effectively improve its biomass yield and root tuber yield. |
