The Encyclopedia of GIS provides a comprehensive and authoritative treatment of a dynamic and rapidly expanding field, with entries alphabetically arranged for convenient, rapid access. The entries explain the key software, data sets, and processes used by geographers and computational scientists. All entries are contributed by world experts and peer-reviewed for accuracy and currency. Nearly 200 topics include major overviews, such as Geoinformatics, Spatial Cognition, and Location-Based Services.
