1. JoA score is a general myelopathy functional measurement. It appears that a large segment of the patient population treated had moderate to severe levels of myelopathy, given their preop score of 10. Please clarify if this score was prospectively obtained at each patient visit, or was it retrospectively reconstructed by the examiners? Given the severity of the myelopathy described, why was no ASIA motor score obtained? Why no health related quality of life score? 2. The authors state that fusion assessed commonly accepted parameters, yet they didn't provide any data on flexion extension radiographs and their interspinous motion, presence of sentinel sign, radiolucency around endplates on lateral imaging and supplemental CT in case of doubtful fusion? 3. In terms of making any claims about fusion by looking at lateral radiographs at a 12 month follow-up I would ask for rephrasing of the title and all pertinent arts of the article to reflect 'early' follow-up. These implants don't really allow assessment of bony in-growth due to their material composition and therefore require ore stringent and longer follow-up to declare 'fusion'. |
