Why do we always talk about the salary?

| As getting my first job for about three months, the most frequently topic we discuss about is the salary of our job. It seems that everyone complaints its poor owning though some of theirs is not bad. This is the thing I could not accept. Sometimes i doubt whether there is something else we may complain, just as they would get such little improvement from their jobs. It is a world full of seeking quick success and instant benifits which is harmful for us, but we have any good choice and methods. Why could’t we focus little on the salary or the money? For now, the most important thing is to earn more experience which is much more important than anything else. It is a huge pressure for people who works with a little money when is compared with the higher one. Just let this comparison go away and focus on job itself. Money will come with you when you are really good at your job and full of experience. Come on, everyone. |

Human being is greedy animal, no doubt. Naturally they feel jealous about you got paid higher, but what is higher, one's value is judged by performance in all aspects, including your outlook, foreign language command, academic background and experiences. In my career life, I often got my job and work hard to very hard and then got promoted and salary increased.  so keep up good work and neglect what others said. |

I may not agree with you. Well, in some cases, your point is right. For example, if people get the jobs which are really promising or happen to be the work they are passionate about, I agree that they should possibly concentrate on the job rather othan the reward. But apparently, most of the time, people complain about the salary or benefits because they suffer a terrible pay and cannot expect any promotion or marked wage increase in next 5 or 10 years. Plus, most people do not have a crazy interest for any job, so they give the first priority to the money both current and expected because they need to survive and to live. So I don't think complaints about the pay are unreasonable. In contrast, if someone is earning a slender salary and having no expected chance of increase, I suggest he/she change his/her job as soon as possible. |
