It was in 1980, much less people in Hong Kong can speak good English. A young American tourist, after rushing into the hotel he booked, and sweating due to the hot weather of Far East, want to ask the bell boy to send him a bottle of beer, perfectly it should be San Miguel, 生力啤酒 his favourite. But when he saw the bell boy he just found the bell boy understand very little English. So he try to express his meaning in body language, he move his hand over himself to show the bell boy he is all wet, sweating and really need something to cool down, and then spell the word: "San Miguel", in order to make the bell boy understand he try to spell out slowly. 10 minutes gone and it seems too long, finally the bell boy knocks, American open the door he found no beer, instead he saw a sexy young girl come along with. He yelled at the bell boy: "I don't need a girl now, I need a beer, why you bring this girl here..." And the bellboy said: "Sir, you just told me say....Send me a girl (read out slowly San Miguel)" |
