Elsevier, Reed Elsevier’s global Science & Medical division, is the world's largest publisher of scientific information, the leading provider of high quality scientific, technical and medical information to the academic, research and healthcare communities. Job Responsibilities: Support for publishing and sales in special content management: • Coordinate special content projects (special issues, review articles, Procedia) from start to finish in a way that contributes to the successful completion of quality, quantity, and revenue targets of the publishing and sales departments • Liaise with internal (publishing, sales, production) and external (editors, guest editors, authors, reviewers) stakeholders about running projects and pipelines; ensure projects are completed by the deadline and according to the quality standards set, ensure internal systems are up to date • Occasionally, support publishing with the acquisition of special content projects • Build a trusting, communicative relationship with internal and external stakeholders across the globe, ensure they are satisfied with the support they receive Support for the conference department in content management of international conferences: • Provide conference support from start (idea generation) to finish (conference event); invite keynote speakers, manage abstract book/CD (including review process for abstracts), prepare the conference programme, and provide on-site support at the conference event itself (locations around the globe) • Liaise with internal (conference dept, publishing) and external (conference organizing committee) contacts, build a trusting, communicative relationship with them, and ensure they are satisfied with the support they receive Ad hoc projects: • Occasionally participate in department-wide projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness of working processes Requirements: • Fluent in both written and spoken English, able to use it as a working language • University degree required • Able to communicate effectively and build strong relationships both internally and externally across the globe • Practical, well-organized, and able to multi-task • Able to work under pressure towards fixed deadlines • Drive/results oriented • Cross-cultural awareness • Creative/innovative • Knowledge of publishing process or experience with (scientific) publishing is a plus, but not required Interested candidates should send a CV, as well as a cover letter to CNRecruit@elsevier.com.
