Based on this feature, IC has been further employed as an electrochemical indicator for the detection of the 18-base DNA fragment from cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV) 35S promoter gene. It was found that no background signal on the IC-based biosensor existed, while in addition to a single mismatch, its position in the target sequence could be distinguished.
