FAME/Intel PhD position in WIT, Ireland

Note: The minimum qualification for the PhD position is a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electronic Engineering or related disciplines. No English test (GRE/TOEFL/...) is required. We have a good opportunity available here for PhD aspirants at Waterford Institute of Technology, Waterford, Ireland. Work is in collaboration with FAME(fame.ie)(at TSSG) and Intel. Postgraduate scholarships are valued at EUR24,000 per annum. Initial funding is for 3 years but we will be able to extend this period. EUR16,000.00 of the annual award is paid as a maintenance award to the student. The remaining EUR8,000.00 is allocated to cover payment of fees to the Research Body and support for the research being carried. This can include the purchase of a moderately priced computer in the first year of research. The work will focus on research of autonomous cloud service management. Particular focus will be given to policy-based cloud service management, bio-inspired autonomous service management and dynamic on-line resource allocation in heterogeneous cloud environments, as well as green energy aware service management systems. The work is with the Intel Cloud and Services Lab, part of the Intel Innovation Lab in Dublin, Ireland. A considerable amount of time will be spent in Intel Innovation Lab in Dublin, which in itself is a great opportunity. We are looking for some bright students willing to work in this area. It would be important to have a student coming from a relatively high profile university and he/she should have a very good academic record.
