P25 is a mixture of 30% rutile and 70% anatase. The band gap energy is 3.0 eV for rutile and 3.2 eV for anatase. Although the band gap energy of P25 has been reported as 3.2 eV in most literature, this is not necessarily true. In fact, the band gap energy can be anywhere between 3.0 and 3.2 eV depending on which company the P25 is supplied by. In that case, if we calculate the activation wavlength from 1240/Ebg, we can tell there is a chance for P25 to be active under the visible light. |
