Report & Record of the 14th Oral English Activity on YY channel

1. About the 14th topic
The 30th Olympic Games holding in London came to our life on time. Exciting? Yes!! At least, I am~ All my family members are sports fans. Actually, it is really a pleasure time during this summer with all the games on TV, except the burning hot temperature, of course…

Well, when I was reading news about this big sport event, I noticed that the gold tally and its winners are always the focus on media front pages. But I want to doubt this phenomenon -- Is it the good manner to give such huge emphasis to champions but ignore those who even won silver medal players? Will it guide to the unbalanced development for all key fields or abnormal acceleration in one’s practice because of the hunger for gold medal?

So the topic raised in my mind:

If you are our sports agency president, which one do you prefer as priority, why?

A: Lead gold tally?
B: High level of balanced development in sports?


I do hope our sports development can be both powerful and healthy, don’t you think so? What’re your own opinions?

2. Discussion
•Shelley (@杨寒丽 ), my solid partner, she expressed her feeling about the opening ceremony at the beginning, she recalled and compared with our opening ceremony in 2008, we Chinese have done a great job and have left us proud example for expressing our own culture and talent for holding world class event.

•In @aiyuyuxia ‘s opinion, the processes of practice, competition and challenge play more important role than the medals. It has the sports spirit inside. For this big event, cultural communications go within the nations all around the world. There are great opportunities for us to learn and talk with the people with the different cultural background. So much interesting stories run!

•Ryan (@xiaohunhun ) who is the fan of Manchester United Football Club (MUFC) paid more attention to football games about the strategies adopted and his favorite players performances.

•Cheryl  (@ ?) , we participants gave birth to this name together for her, she is also a big sports fan or big program fan , who get up early with great passion in the morning to watch the opening ceremony of London 2012 Olympic Games.

•Serena (@serena7 ) considered that the sportsman got too much pressure for the achievements and the training was so strict. The gold medal is not that much significant, because the procedure and joy melting in the sports are the keys for the truth of sports.


3. Conclusion
With the discussion going to the end about the topic concerned about the Olympic Games and the sportsman, all the participants almost came to the same opinion that the sports operation should take all the elements of better achievement, health, joy and cares for the future seeds in all the fields.


Therefore, when we scholars or students enjoy the great games with cool drinks, please discuss a little in our mind ourselves that does it good enough for the modern system that run now, for both sports and sportsman? Because not just for protecting the sportsman now, but maybe for our children, would perform on these platforms one decade later.

So why not we improve these first in scientific way?
