The US
Voglibose was expected to be ready for marketing in the US by 2000 . However, by October 2001, unconfirmed reports stated that US development of voglibose had been discontinued, with the US status of the product no longer appearing in the Takeda pipeline from July 2002 . No further development has been reported in the territory.

Europe
Takeda filed for European approval in March 1998 and voglibose was expected to be ready for marketing in Europe by 2000 . However, by October 2001, unconfirmed reports stated that the European development of voglibose had been discontinued, with the European status no longer appearing in the Takeda pipeline from July 2002 . No further development has been reported in the territory.
