What is the traditional way of life? I think it is the living of brothers in the same family or nearby, babysitting of children by grand parents, and the surport of the senior persons by sons. This has been the tradition of we Chinese in many places for many, many years. The base of such a life is farming. In old times, farming is the base of a society, and an absolutely majority of persons are engaged in farming. So, they do not need to move during their life, they live near their parents, when they go to work in fields, their parents can take care of their children. When their parents are old, they can help their parent for eating, washing, and for medical things. However, China is experiencing a rapid development in economy, more and more people are working in towns and cities. The careers in non-farming section are completely different from that of a farmer. Sons of the same parents may work in different cities, and they also may move from one city to another. At present, some coupples have more than one child, so they often have to travel between different cities to look after children of different child. It is also becoming more and more difficult for siblings to gather. At the same time, our siblings are not as important as those in old times. The most intimate person to one prrson may be his or her university classmate nowdays, who may have spent more time with this person than his or her siblings. It is a rare experience for a person spend several months with his or her parents nowdays, but in old days, people spend the whole life with his or her parents until their parents pass away. Bai Jiaxuan talked with his mother Baizhaoshi every evening before going to bed in the novel Bailuyuan, this may will never happen in China again. So, at present, both the husband and the wife have to go to work to earn money, but the way of baby-caring is mainly still a traditional one, tha is, in most cases, babies are still looked after by grand parents. So, when one old couple have more than one child, they will have to spend more time on traveling to look after different grand children. Do you miss the old days? I do miss the old days. Close relationship with parents and siblings does count. Mum and dad build up a family and bring us to this world, so I suppose siblings should be closer than classmates or friends. But in fact it is not. What a pity! We trust someone else but not from your family. I miss the old days playing with my brother. It was a great fun. We used to care each other, but not now. He spends most of his time with his business parters or someone who could bring forture to him. He just turened to be a stranger to me since then. |

| Yes, our daily life has changed a lot in these years. Most of the traditional things must to chang at the same time. Especialy for our big famillys life in the old time. I think at the old time our children can have a happy childhood at that time, because there will be so many person to take care of them, and so many children to play with them. Its also very useful for our older person. They also can be taked good care of by their children after they cant walked. But now for our modern society, every yong or senior people must to work to get a satisfied life, not only for himself but also for his familyl. So we will have little time to accompany with our relationship. But I think if our relative have sth happend, we will help them at the first time. This is our ihuman's instinct I think. Though the distance make us cant see each other every minute, but we are still have the same blood. So we still live in a happy life. |

Yes,I also agree the old taditional of life won't come bace.Everything is changing.Well,the modern life is not bad.After all we can trave more places and see more wonderful world. And I also agree that Children working in different city can not came home is too bad.For example,the city I work is far from my hometown.I only be able to come back home once a year.What is more,my parents are old enough.I even can count the time we meeting.So sad fact.That must be change. If the problem can be resolved.In my opinion,the morder life is more wonderful. |

Perhaps most people look foward to the life like The Cowherd and the Weaving Maid in fairy tail, which may be the model of farming life. But nowadays, more and more persons are immersed in the hustle and bustle of city because of the pressure of living. The impression of peaceful farming life is gradually dimming which will be a memory or a yearn. However if you have enough financial support, recovering to simple and coming to nature again could take place. |

as a matter of fact,many people from countrysides have settled down in cities and have their own houses.however,most of them,especially new coupers,are not willing to live with their parents.that is to say,they want more private room and enjoy their lives more freely.in my opinion,we should treasure every minute and second with our parents before they pass away. one of my teacher said, bailuyuan is a great novel, it deep reflect agricultural society of china. and it left a deep impression on me too i don't miss old days at all, because independence, freedom and individuality is very important for me. we must consider the feelings of others always, but i hope i can live the life i want as much as possible |
