Post-doctoral positions in Neuroprotection and Axon Regeneration : Philadelphia, PA, United States
One postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Yang Hu in the Shriners Hospitals Pediatric Research Center (Center for Neural Repair and Rehabilitation) at Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia. http://www.temple.edu/medicine/faculty/h/hu-w.asp
We are studying the mechanisms of neuronal cell death and axon regeneration after CNS injury and in neurodegenerative diseases, aiming to define therapeutic strategies for neural repair.
We are looking for highly motivated candidate who has recently obtained their Ph.D. or expects to obtain one in the near future. Experiences in molecular biology and transgenic mice related in vivo experiments are desired. This position will provide excellent training opportunities for gene therapy, surgical and behavioral techniques, histology, imaging and microarray/deep sequencing in exciting neuroprotection and axon regeneration field.
The laboratory is situated in the new Medical Education and Research Building surrounded by several excellent labs focus on neuronal injury and repair. The center is a highly collaborative working environment with state of the art core facilities including 2-photon, LCM and confocal microscopes. We are located just minutes away from downtown Philadelphia.
