Job Openings We are looking for top candidates to join our Microelectronics Systems and Applications research group as Research Assistant starting Fall 2012. Experiences or candidates or with Ph.D. recently completed will be considered for a Post-doctoral position. Main responsibilities are related to two existing projects in the areas of embedded and cyber-physical systems: First, a project on power/thermal management and optimization of massively integrated 3-D multicore platforms where communication happens via the network-on-chip approach. The main goal of this proposal is to address the fundamental issues of designing effective and highly scalable control algorithms for power and thermal management in multi-domain multicore systems. Second, a project on modeling and simulation of design of complex electronic systems for biomedical and particularly neuro-engineering applications. The main goal of this project is to design neural implantable systems for different neural diseases, gain insight into dense network design, and finally deliver effective neuro-prosthetics and rehabilitation devices to drug delivery or health monitoring. For Research Assistant, candidates should have at least Bachelor's degree (preferably a Master's degree) in a relevant area. Excellent analytical and communication skills in English speaking and writing are required. For Post-Doc positions, candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in computer science/engineering, electronic engineering or another relevant field (e.g., applied mathematics, operational research, physics, systems/computational biology), experience with VHDL/Verilog/SystemC or related hardware development and, C/C++/Matlab software development. Research experience in systems and/or control theory and experience in using FPGAs/GPUs will provide an added advantage.
