Main Purpose of Role: The Drugs Team is part of the Drug Pipeline team and is responsible for maintaining the timeliness and accuracy of investigational drug content on Thomson Reuters Pharma (www.thomson-pharma.com/) and other products within the Life Sciences portfolio. The Global Editorial Operations group gathers and analyses a variety of scientific and industry source data to provide value-add content for these databases. The main role of the Editor, Drug Information involves researching, identifying, translating, capturing and processing pharmaceutical content from specifically China, updating it into Thomson Reuters Pharma, and helping to maintain the quality of the database’s overall drug and company records. The sources for this information include regional conferences, which the role holder will be expected to attend, as well as direct engagement with relevant companies to gather source data. It is also expected that the Editor, Drug Information will take an active role in supporting development of drug, company and trials content and policy, and support of other Editors in the Global Editorial Operations group. Duties and responsibilities: 1. Identify, research and update pharmaceutical information into drug and company records in Thomson Reuters Pharma and other products 2. Write and edit to a high standard for publication 3. Attend, report and update from national and international conferences as required 4. Assist the manager in the development and maintenance of editorial policy, processes and procedures Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: • Fluent in Mandarin and English • Ability to translate scientific information from Chinese into English • Firm background in life sciences • Ability to research and compile complex data and information • Proven ability to work independently and autonomously • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • Computer literacy, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel • Good eye for detail • Problem identification and solving skills • Excellent time management Education: Degree / MSc / PhD or equivalent in Life Sciences and fluent Chinese and English language written translation and oral skills |
