it's important that I know when I did wrong

from American TV series, House S01. E09. ( Dr.House and Dr.Forman were arguing for Dr.Forman thought Dr.House was always mean, however, Dr.Hamilton was kind.) House: How do I abuse you? Forman: How do you not？If I make a mistake... House: I hold you account of them. so what? Forman: Dr.Hamilton forgives. He's capable for moving on! House: That's not what he does! Forman: I screw up his case. He told me... House: He never said you're forgiven! I was there, he said, it wasn't your fault! Forman: so? House: So it WAS! You took a chance, you did something great. You were wrong, but it was still great. You SHOULD feel great when it's great! BUT, you SHOULD feel like crap because it's wrong. That's the difference between he and me. He thinks that you do your job, what will be will be. I think what you do and I do matters! He sleeps not better than I. He shouldn't! This conversation touched my deep heart. Before I always hoped that my partner in the lab would be a nice and kind person, who always forgives when I make mistakes. However, the partners of mine were direct and tough. It was such a hard time. Sometimes I felt unfair, I worked so hard and I deserved praise in stead of blame. Just now I realized that I was wrong. Most of the time my partner pointed out my mistakes and told me the right way because she thought what she did and I did did matter. The one who always blamed me was myself. I felt shame on myself so I'm afraid to be pointed out the mistakes. Like what Dr.House said, you should feel great when it's great! you should feel like crap, because it is! I'm happy that I have a partner who cares what she does and does what she should do! I'm happy that I'm still young but I realized that I should hold me account of my mistakes and learn something from them. [ Last edited by 木星海 on 2012-6-13 at 02:08 ] |
