[交流] Sexual harassment at table

It is a season of biding farewell to friends and teachers on campus again.

It is also a season for eating and drinking together, singing, laughing, crying and evening weeping.

We drink beer and wine.

Compared with the westerners, we have more delicious foods, and more traditions at the table.

Today, I want to talk about sexual harassment at table.

Months ago, we invited several experts from BJ to help us improving fund applications for teachers in our department. I don't know how many good advices have those experts gave us, but, I know, one of the beautiful lady was offended by one of the experts.

At lunch, leaders of our department accompanied the experts, they drank, according to their talking at supper, when I was present.

At supper, in order to show our respects to the experts from a faraway place, the chief of the science and technoly department of our university also came. Unfortunately, the chief is a beautiful and young lady. We call her Y here.

One of the experts is about 50. When Y came, this expert was already a little drunk. In fact, I think he has not recovered from the wine at lunch at all. The expert stood up from his chair, went to Y, with a cup in his hand.

He put another of his arm aroud the shoulder of Y, talking for minutes, then, he put his cup on the table, catching both hands of Y tightly with his two hands, saying words without nothing in. Later he went back to his own chair.

Minutes later, our leaders accompanied this expert to his own room in the hotel.

Recently, we teachers had a dinner with students who will graduate this year. One such experts again performed this way. But he was not drunk, putting his arm around the shoulder of a girl student for a long time.

I think this is not very serious, compared with those in the mass media, perhaps, but these were all done by so-called experts and professors.

More often, these people have a dominant position at the table, they are either leaders, or experts. So, more often, the harassed can only accept it.

Perhaps we can only say, keep your salty pig feet away!
