[交流] How to give birth to a baby?

This question seems a littel rediculous at the firs sight.

Please listen to my story.

My sister-in-law gave birth to a baby the day before yesterday. She lived in a village, which is my hometown. I phoned my uncle to show my congratulations to him and the young couple. In fact, the father of the new baby was not home. He is still working in a faraway place.

Uncle said the baby was born in a local women and children hospital. The cost was about 3000 yuan. The baby is healthy and lovely.

He said, they did not go to the best hospital in the county. Because doctors there often requir the mother to give birth by c-section (that is to take the baby out from the mother by an operation). The cost will be about 10000 yuan.

I was a little astonished.

My daughter is five and a half years old now.

I remembered we only spent less than 2000 yuan when she was born. At that time, a c-section cost about 4000 yuan. I don't know how much can be costed at present in our city.

It seems the doctors in my hometown pay more attention to money than the health.

In todays newspaper, a news says that many doctors were punished for abuse of antibiotics in this city.

I think, the abuse of antibiotics and other medacine is more serious in countryside, according to my experience.

In countryside, parents often buy antibiotics for their children. For many doctors in clinics in countryside, whateve the disease is, a transfusion is necessary.

According to the mass media, China has the highest percentage of c-section birth, and the highest dosage of transfusion per person in the world. I remember the number is eight bottles of transfusion per person every year.

We know although too much antibiotics and too much transfusion will cure the disease in a short time, but in the long run, they will make people more susceptible to disease.

The c-section labor brings less pain to the mother, but it is not  helpful to the baby, and it make a cutting on the body of the mother.

However, these all bring more money to the doctors and the hospital.

Chairman Mao once said, focus medical and hygiene work on the countryside. It seems we still need pay more attention to the health and healthcare of people in countryside.

HI. thank you for your story.
you give a very clear picture of poor medical conditions in the rural areas of our country. despite helping the illed and people in need, doctors are busy with pursuiting interests. ordinary people have no money to hospitals. in reality, lots of families become hard to survive after catching illnesses which is a common phenomenon in chineses rural areas. no wonder more and more conflicts took place in recent years.

It is nealy unbelievable to me. I think it is not as expensive as that in our city now.
So, conditions in coutryside are not good.
