Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research scientist to work with Professor Chris Abell (Departement of Chemistry) in a collaborative project with Dr Catherine Green (Department of Zoology) to identify substrates of a methyl transferase enzyme. The project will involve the synthesis of affinity labels and some protein chemistry. Applicants should have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in organic chemistry. Proven expertise in synthetic organic chemistry is essential; some knowledge of enzymology and drug discovery would be advantageous. Salary range: GBP 27,578 - 35,938 pa. The positions is available immediately, for a period of 12 months in the first instance.
