Previously, we reported N-arylation of aliphatic, aro-matic and heteroaromatic amines with aryl halides using preformed copper bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5-heptane dio-nate) as the catalyst.14 The use of 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedione (TMHD) as a ligand resulted in excellent yields of products and such reactivity could be attributed to the fact that a good balance exists between the steric and electronic properties of the complex. Herein, we report a facile C-2 arylation of heterocycles with aryl halides catalyzed by a well defined and stable O-containing transition metal complex, viz Pd bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5heptanedionate) [Pd(TMHD)2] in an e cient manner. The ease of preparation of the complex,15 its high solubility in organic solvents, indefinite shelf life, stability towards air and compatibility with a wide variety of heterocycles makes it an ideal complex for direct C-2 arylation of het-erocycles ( Scheme 1).

起初,我们报导了以copper bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5-heptane dio-nate)为催化剂制备N-芳基的脂肪族,芳香族和杂环的胺类化合物。以TMHD为配体,我们得到了优秀的产率。这一反应活性主要是由于在化合物的立体结构和电性上有一个恰当的平衡。这里我们报导一种以芳卤催化的实用的一种含氧的过渡金属Pd bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5heptanedionate) [Pd(TMHD)2]芳基化合物。化合物15制备简单,易溶于有机溶剂,稳定,而且对许多杂环化合物兼容,是导向杂环化合物2位芳基化的理想化合物(表1)。
