[交流] To those who will become parents soon.

As my daughter grows up day by day, I find we make some mistakes in nurturing her.

The following advices are based on our own experience and the information from net and books.

I hope they will help those who will become parents soon.

1. Try to be as careful as possible when looking after a baby.

Perhaps we only have one chance to be parents in our life, so, no one has the experience. Reading some books about how to look after a baby is necessary. Besides this, stay with your baby at every minute when she or he is young, observe every gesture she or he makes. Thus, when she or he gets sick or is hurt, you will find it in the shortest time.

One of my friends found a swelling on the crotch of his son when the baby was several months old, because the father often looked at his baby, watched every movement of him.

My daughter got scalded when she was 11 months old, fortunately it was not serious.

Often, the age between 10-20 months of a baby is regarded as the most dangeous period, because the baby can move much more easily than before, but the parents have not changed from the former way of looking after her, they still think the baby is young, she or he can not move freely.

Many scaldings happen during this period. I know two babies knock over the thermobottles and get badly hurt.

So, do not place the thermobottles or anything hot on the floor when your baby is young.

When a scalding occurs, cool the baby as quickly as you can with running water. This will take away the extra heat on the flesh of the baby, so the recovering will be quicker.

Another lesson for us is that, we often bathe our daughter wihout protecting her ears, again and again, when she was four, an inflamation happend in her ears.

We feel very sorry about our carelessness.


2. Try to give birth to a healthy baby.

Before the wife become expecting, a physical check is necessary.

Try to keep healthy, sleep enough, do not drink wine, do not smoke, do not contact chemicals.

Hope every couple will have a healthy and lovely baby!
