The peaks at 1445 and 1607 cm−1 were due to the interaction of pyridine with Lewis acidic sites (exposed Ti4+ cations), while the peaks at 1540 and 1639 cm−1 came from the protonation of pyridine molecule by the Brønsted acid sites (surface-bound hydroxyl groups).
