书评： http://book.douban.com/review/4521626/ 这本书从内容上看是一本高级教程，是写给学过基本的场论，了解正则量子化、路径积分量子化的读者看的。虽然前言中作者把本书与Mandl做比，但可惜的是，本书在易读性上与mandl着实有天壤之别，作为自学和初学的读物似乎不甚合适，反而对于了解场论基本概念的读者来说，这本书却是提纲挈领的绝佳读物。 作为一本全面介绍量子场论基本概念的导论，200来页厚度是很薄的。而在轻薄的页数背后，却是作者充满现代感的高观点和对大量高级概念毫不避讳的详细诠释。诚然，这样一本书是不可能事无巨细地展开技术细节、演示计算技巧的。实际上，许多常见与其它教材主体的重要细节，譬如Wick theorem、feynman rules的导出等，都被作者放入了习题。然而，比起其它教材来说，本书除了常见言之不详的细节这点令人恼火，体系比Peskin完整，物理讲得比Srednicki充足，内容不像Weinberg那么繁复堆叠，因而有着结构更加清晰、概念更加连贯、物理诠释更加全面的优点。 这本书我现在只看了三章多一点，但印象已经非常深刻。我打算把它作为除Srednicki和Peskin之外的主要参考书来看。这本书一开始讲量子化就用了weinberg书的粒子观点，即从波函数和二次量子化形式出发，再从因果性入手引入反粒子。推导费曼规则时先推导了Schwinger-Dyson方程，再用泛函方程的角度导出路径积分，这些都是令人耳目一新的漂亮处理。另一方面，本书强调数学的严谨性，对路径积分和重整化的处理并没有蒙混过关。读者清楚的指出：尽管连续空间路径积分难以定义，但栅格化的空间中却可以定义行为良好的路径积分概念。而在重整化和有效场论的意义下，也正是后者描述了真正有价值的物理。这虽是常识，但却是很多场论教材极少提及的。 最后，如果说Mandl的书“素雅”，而Weinberg的书“妖冶”的话，这本书大约算是兼而有之。在场论芜杂厚重的资料堆里，能有这么一本既薄得轻松活泼，又有着大量材料、读之过瘾的书，不啻为作者为我们奉上的一道饶有情趣的珍馐。 |
