The impact of human factors and natural disasters, the cables often occur faults such as open circuit, short circuit and impedance mismatch. Those faults can lead to severe economic losses and safety hazards. Therefore, accurate detection of cable fault type and location has great significance for the timely recovery of the communications and power systems. |

| The rapid development of electric power and communications systems produces vast networks consist of transmission cables which are vulnerable to external effects, that could be man-made or natural, suffering faults like open circuit, short circuit or impedance mismatch, eventually lead to severe economic losses and safety hazards. Therefore, the accurate detection on fault type and location of cables makes a great sense to the protection of communication and recovery of power systems. |
