http://yubinzhou.webs.com/positionsavailable.htm Positions available Position 1: Postdoctoral Research Fellow A postdoctoral position is available to pursue biophysical and biochemical research efforts on membrane proteins or design of optical-switching proteins with tailored biomedical function. The successful candidate will join a team of scientists investigating diverse biological problems including cellular signaling and protein chemistry. The research involves molecular biology, protein purification, biochemical assays, cell culture, and occasionally working with mice. The systems under investigation are of high biomedical relevance, especially in relation to immunodeficiency, neurological and cardiovascular diseases. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent in biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, molecular biology, or a related discipline with an emphasis on protein biochemistry. Candidates with a solid background in protein chemistry, biophysics and modern spectroscopic methods for bio-macromolecular structural/dynamic analyses, are desired. Position 2: Research Technician A full-time position for a research technician is available. The successful candidate will join a team of scientists investigating diverse biological problems including cellular signaling and protein chemistry. The research involves molecular biology, protein purification, biochemical assays, cell culture, and working with mice. We seek candidates who are diligent and meticulous, display initiative and independence, and desire to contribute to a friendly and collaborative laboratory environment. Responsibilities include some general lab maintenance. A bachelor or master's degree (BS/BA) in biology, chemistry, biochemistry or related field is required; pertinent laboratory experience will be favorably considered.
