Xylan is the most aboudant polysaccharide cellulose not included and is also one of the most abundant regenerated resources in the natural world. As the key enzyme in the xylan degradation system xylanase which could converse wood fiber materials into SCP, ethanol, gas fuel and solvent and other useful materials. Also xylanase is used widely in the food, papermaking industry so its development potential is extremly huge. This paper described the variety of the xylanase, action mechanism and the research progress of application in the industry.
