Dear Sir, Thanks for your mail. I greatly appreciate your frank opinion. Most humbly, I wish to write something about the impact factor game. As you might be aware that the impact factor reflects frequency of citation of articles of a particular journal among SCI journals. This criterion may not necessarily correlate with quality of the research work. Earlier the researchers were very much obsessed with the impact factor but now the trend is changing. And the criterion used in impact factor calculation is heavily criticized. Please visit http://bjr.birjournals.org/content/83/986/93.full.pdf to read an interesting article of impact factor. As a rule of thumb 80% of a journals impact factor is determined by 20% of the papers published (http://blogs.plos.org/plos/2006/06/the-impact-factor-game/).
