Manuscripts should be compiled in the following order: title page; abstract; keywords; main text; acknowledgments; appendices (as appropriate); references; table(s) with caption(s) (on individual pages); figure caption(s) (as a list). Abstracts of no more than 100-200 words are required for all papers submitted. Each paper should have 3-5 keywords. Section headings should be concise and numbered sequentially, using a decimal system for subsections. One author should be identified as the Corresponding Author and should include his/her full name, affiliation, postal address, telephone and fax number and email address on the cover page of the manuscript. All other authors should provide full names, affiliations and email addresses. Biographical notes on contributors are not required for this journal. For all manuscripts non-discriminatory language is mandatory. Sexist or racist terms should not be used. Authors must adhere to SI units. Units are not italicised. When using a word which is or is asserted to be a proprietary term or trade mark, authors must use the symbol ® or TM. 2. Methodology Methods used to determine biological activities of coordination compounds must be described in sufficient detail to be repeated by other researchers or referenced to such a detailed account. Such studies must include standard/established drugs, the free ligand, solvent and non-coordinated metal ion tested in the same system for comparison. Statistical analysis (error limits) for the bioactivity data are required with a statement of the number of times the determination was repeated. When making comparisons of complexes of substantially different molecular masses, molar quantities should be used. Detailed descriptions of methods used in bioactivity studies should be placed in the Experimental Section. 3. Analytical results These should be reported in the manner illustrated as follows: Anal. Calcd. for KBr(%): K, 32.9; Br, 67.1. Found: K, 32.7; Br, 67.0. 4. Spectra, Structures and Thermal Analysis Routine spectral data will not be published. Essential or important representative spectra should be carefully presented to include frequencies of the maxima and also relative intensities, breadths and shapes of the bands as briefly as possible. Prior to submission, authors are expected to use the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) checkCIF service (http://checkcif.iucr.org) to validate all crystallographic information files (CIFs) and structure factors. Copies of the CIF and validation reports for both the CIF and structure factors must be submitted as Supplemental Material for reviewers. A fully completed CIF must be deposited with the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Center (CCDC) (for compounds containing an organic component, send files as attachments to deposit@ccdc.cam.ac.uk) or the Inorganic Crystal Structure Database (ICSD) (for purely inorganic compounds, http://www.fiz-karlsruhe.de/icsd_content.html) and the returned deposition number quoted in the experimental section of the manuscript. When uploading your CIF(s) and validation reports to the Journal of Coordination Chemistry ScholarOne Manuscripts site, please select 'Supplemental Files' where asked for a 'File Designation'. Manuscripts uploaded without copies of the CIF file and validation reports for both the CIF and structure factors will not be sent out for review. Kinetic studies of thermal decomposition using Coats-Redfern, Achar differential, Horowitz-Metzger or other approximations will only be published as Supplemental Material. 5. Style guidelines Description of the Journal's style Guide to using mathematical symbols and equations 6. Figures It is in the author's interest to provide the highest quality figure format possible. Please be sure that all imported scanned material is scanned at the appropriate resolution: 1200 dpi for line art, 600 dpi for grayscale and 300 dpi for color. Figures must be saved separate to text. Please do not embed figures in the paper file. Files should be saved as one of the following formats: TIFF (tagged image file format), PostScript or EPS (encapsulated PostScript), and should contain all the necessary font information and the source file of the application (e.g. CorelDraw/Mac, CorelDraw/PC). All figures must be numbered in the order in which they appear in the paper (e.g. figure 1, figure 2). In multi-part figures, each part should be labelled (e.g. figure 1(a), figure 1(b)). Figure captions must be saved separately, as part of the file containing the complete text of the paper, and numbered correspondingly. The filename for a graphic should be descriptive of the graphic, e.g. Figure1, Figure2a. 7. Color There are a limited number of color pages within the annual page allowance for the printed journal. Authors should restrict their use of color to situations where it is necessary on scientific, and not merely cosmetic, grounds. Authors of accepted papers who propose publishing figures in color in the print version should consult Taylor & Francis at proof stage to agree on an appropriate number of color pages. If the color page budget is exceeded, authors will be given the option to provide a financial contribution to additional color reproduction costs. Figures that appear in black-and-white in the print edition of the Journal will appear in color in the online edition, assuming color originals are supplied. 8. Reproduction of copyright material As an author, you are required to secure permission if you want to reproduce any figure, table, or extract from the text of another source. This applies to direct reproduction as well as "derivative reproduction" (where you have created a new figure or table which derives substantially from a copyrighted source).
