JOB CONTENT Core tasks Office management and assistance to the environment counsellor, including answering of telephone, responding to general enquiries, electronic filing of documents, registration of documents, maintaining databases of contacts, use of different Delegation databases and reservation systems, handling of paperwork of counsellor's missions; Analyzing and reporting on policy developments Arranging programmes and logistics for visiting officials from Brussels; Translating / interpreting Chinese – English and vice versa; Drafting minutes of meetings; preparing correspondence and presentations Handle practical aspects of organization of events (e.g. workshops, seminars) Building up and maintaining contacts in relevant ministries and bodies. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education & Training High school degree + Bachelor degree in a relevant field University degree in a field relevant to the work of the section is an asset Knowledge & experience At least 5 years experience in a relevant field Experience in an international organisation is an asset Skills Fluent Chinese (mandarin) and English, written and speaking, with good interpretation skills. Capacity and willingness to cope with both office management tasks and with substantial policy issues. Personal Qualities Ability to work independently but under guidance of the environment counsellor; Flexibility to work under pressure and at times during irregular working hours and to respond quickly to new demands; Willingness to work on a wide range of tasks – some secretarial and some more analytical; Commitment to assure quality, speed and accuracy Good organisational skills APPLICATIONS: The Application dossier should contain the following documents: A letter of motivation in English Standard CV(English version only) Applications mentioning the Reference: Assistant Environment in the subject line should be sent by e-mail to: Delegation-China-HR@eeas.europa.eu The deadline for reception of applications is set for 17 hrs (GMT+8) on 29 March 2012 |
