A large number of excellent applications had been received. This forced the selection committee to set priorities as there is only a restricted budget available to fund these fellowships. In the context of a very strong competition, I am afraid the assessment of your application by independent peer reviewers, which is one of the criteria upon which the decision is based, did not, unfortunately, result in an approval.
