Abstract: La0.8MnO3 and La0.8K0.2MnO3 perovskite-type catalysts were prepared using the citric acid sol-gel method. TPO tests were performed to evaluate the catalyst activity for soot oxidation in different gas atmosphere. Catalysts were characterized and analyzed with XRD, O2-TPD, NO-TPD, XPS and NO pretreated O2-TPD. The results showed that the presence of NO had a positive effect on the catalytic oxidation of soot. Moreover, for LaMnO3 and La0.8K0.2MnO3, the promoting effect was different in the catalytic oxidation of soot. It was closely related to the surface vacancy oxygen and the active oxygen species of the catalysts.
